Meet Crissi Brooks, MA, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Hi, I’m Crissi, a down-to-earth psychiatric nurse practitioner serving Monroe, West Monroe, and the wider Ark-La-Miss region who is fluent in Spanish and English. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life: teens navigating anxiety, adults facing late-diagnosed ADHD, families touched by trauma, and older adults navigating mood disorders. Whether in outpatient clinics, inpatient substance use programs, or immigrant detention centers, one truth keeps resurfacing: every mind—and every story—is unique.
What we can work on together:
- Depression & anxiety
- Bipolar & other mood disorders
- Trauma & PTSD
- Late-diagnosed ADHD and Autism in women
- Grief, loss & life transitions
How I approach care:
- Listen first. Our first visit is about you — your history, your hopes, and what “feeling better” looks like.
- Create a personalized plan. Together, we’ll choose the right mix of medication management, focused therapy, Creyos™ cognitive assessments, or ketamine-assisted psychotherapy when appropriate.
- Evolve together. Treatment isn’t static; we’ll adjust as your life and goals change.
I stay current with evidence-based practices through continuing education as a memberof the and through ongoing training with groups such as the Integrative Psychiatry Institute and ASKP3. My master’s thesis explored ketamine’s role in mental health, and the life-changing results I’ve witnessed since 2022 continue to inspire me. If you’re ready for transformative, personalized care, please call 318-667-6036 or request a complimentary 15-minute consultation online by clicking the button below. Your mental health matters—let’s embark on this journey together.
Meet John Brooks, MA, LMFT, LPC

Hello, I’m John Brooks a Monroe-based therapist who’s spent the last decade helping individuals, couples, and families across the Northeast Louisiana region untangle life’s toughest knots. My training in brief, structural strategic therapy means our sessions stay focused on actionable solutionsthat fit your strengths and values.
Areas I work with most often:
- Substance use & co-occuring disorders
- Marriage & partnership conflicts
- Family restructuring & parenting challenges
- Grief, anxiety, depression & PTSD
- Adolescent mental health hurdles
How therapy with me feels:
- Collaborative & practical: We’ll map out clear goals, then test small shifts in real-time so that the change sticks.
- Systems-oriented: You don’t live in a vacuum—so we’ll consider the broader webs of family, work, and community that shape your day-to-day.
- Open-minded & evidence-based: Alongside traditional talk therapy, I offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for treatment-resistant depression, and I’m preparing to integrate additional evidence-backed modalities as they become available.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a paramedic and registered nurse—from remote oil and gas rigs on multiple continents to hospice units and the 4th District Juvenile Drug Court here in Louisiana. Seeing people and families navigate crisis medicine and high-stress environments taught me how resilient we are—and how targeted support can spark real change. I bring that perspective into every session: steady, nonjudgmental guidance to help you realign the pieces and move forward. If you’re ready to rebuild connection, manage stress more effectively, or navigate a major transition, let’s talk.
Book a complimentary 15-minute consultation, and we’ll see whether I’m the right fit for your journey.
